Good bye 2015

It is already the end of 2015, and I’m thinking what a fruitful year it was.  I made many friends who share the same love for Sylvanian Families all over the world!  Thank you everyone, for visiting my blog and becoming friends with me.

For Christmas, my husband bought me a cloverleaf manor, and it finally arrived yesterday.  It is gigantic!! I somehow managed to fit it in my diorama this morning, so I’d like to share the photo of my entire diorama.

My diorama is located on the corner of my bedroom.  I use square tables from IKEA so I can move the parts around to redesign my town layout anytime I want.  Since my son isn’t playing too much with my SF collection these days, I have half of the diorama pushed against the walls to give myself more room.

If you’re new to my blog, I have a page with compiled with diorama making articles I’ve done.  It might be interesting if you are thinking of making a diorama like mine.

“Diorama 101”

This post will the last post of 2015, and I’ll see you all again in 2016!

A little update on my town’s construction

Hi there! I’ve been working on a new area of my Sylvanian Families town lately.   I still have a long way to go with this construction before it’s finished, but I thought I’d share a little update.

The new area is a side of a lake.  There won’t be a full lake on my diorama, but this new area has the end of the lake.  So here it is..

It kinda looks like a port right now, but hopefully I can make it look more like a man-made lake edge.

The reason I made the area is because I obtained this seaside restaurant for super cheap during a sale on Black Friday.  Since I don’t have a room to make an ocean in my town, I decided to place it by the lake.

Also, I finally decided on a location for my toy shop, which I had bought several months ago.  I’ve added a rooftop and am making it a little rooftop patio for the tea shop.  I still need to make a fence, etc. for this area as well.

Along the side of the new constructions, I have started to catalog my SF collection. It seems some people are interested in what I have in my town, so I will be working on a page on this blog dedicated to my collection.

Until I sorted all my critters, I didn’t know how many dolls I had….lol

Today I took photos of rabbit families. I don’t have names or background stories set up for my critters, as I am more into crafting and scenery.  So I will be just putting up the family photos of my animals, but if you are interested, here is the link to my town’s info.

“Humpty Town”

….I know, I know, it’s a strange name for a town.  About a year ago, my son named my town “Humpty Town” after Humpty Dumpty, which was his favorite character back then.  I’d change the name now that he doesn’t care, but it is already pretty well known among my Japanese SF friends, so I am keeping it. lol

A surprise gift from Soramama-san!

It’s Christmas eve here today.  This Christmas season has been better than any Christmas I have ever had…lots of exchanges and surprises! Just when I thought I was through receiving packages, a surprise gift arrived from Japan!

Recently, I won an give away prize on “Soramama’s Happy Diary.”   This is a Japanese SF blog of my new friend, “Soramama.” Soramama is really crafty and makes miniature crafting look so easy.  Her creations always turn out so well, and I especially love her miniature breads.  Anyway, so she was giving away some miniature bread she had made.  I was thinking it will arrive sometime early next month, but alas, Soramama sent me her package in express mail!! Woot, woot!!

So here they are, you can almost smell them! They look so yummy and realistic!! Soramama also made the basket.  Isn’t it super cute?

I have an empty bakery, “Red and Wolf,” which I made quite a while ago.  I haven’t made any bread for this bakery, because it looks too much fun to make miniature food and wasn’t sure if I wanted to get hooked yet. lol  So I’m very happy that my little red riding hood has some bread she can sell now.

The package actually was a big box, and I was very confused since I thought I was getting some miniature bread…. Soramama included a nice set of craft bands for miniature basket making as a surprise! Boy, isn’t she good!!

Oh, you might have noticed that I haven’t posted anything related to my crafts lately….I have been sick from a nasty cold, which lasted way too long. But now that I’m feeling better, I’m working on a new area in my town.  I will write about it as soon as I finish, so stay tuned!

Oh, and Happy Holidays to everyone!!!
